A QR code for social media that looks like your profile
A QR code for social media is the fastest way to get someone from the real world to your profile: at a market stall, at the end of a talk, on a sticker on your laptop. With QRPetal the code is made from your own photo or artwork, so it already looks like you before anyone scans it.
What to link to
- Your main profile, if you are mostly on one platform.
- A link-in-bio page, if you want to offer several platforms, a shop and a newsletter from one code.
- A specific post or video, for a campaign.
If you might switch platforms or pages later, use an editable code. You can point it somewhere new and see how many people scanned it at each event. Our free plan includes one editable code.
Picking the picture
- Use the same image as your avatar or banner, so people recognise it.
- Simple, bold shapes read better than busy detail, especially on small stickers.
- Keep faces and important detail away from three corners: those hold the solid square markers every QR code needs.
- Have fun with the style: the Stars and Round dots styles suit creators, and the scan score tells you if you went too far.
Where to show it
- Market stalls and pop-ups: a table stand at chest height, at least 8 to 10 cm wide.
- Stickers and business cards: at least 2.5 cm wide.
- Conference slides: put the code on the last slide and leave it up during questions. Make it large, and use the Easy scan style: people scan from the back of the room.
- Merch and packaging: see our guide to QR codes on packaging.
Test it where people will scan it
A code on a screen behaves differently from a code on paper. Screens can be dim or reflective and can show moiré patterns. Check your code on the actual screen or print, from the actual distance, with more than one phone.
