Why we built it

QR codes are everywhere: on menus, invitations, posters and packaging. Most of them are ugly black squares that fight with the design around them. The "art QR" tools that exist mostly ask an AI to invent a new picture, which is not much use when you want your café, your product or your wedding photo, and some of those codes do not scan well.

We wanted the opposite: keep the real photo, add only what a QR reader needs, and be honest about whether it will scan. QRPetal started as a small prototype built on the open-sourceqrcode-artistic method, with a two-reader scan check added on top. You can read the details on how it works.

What we promise

• Honest scan scores. We never show a pass for a code that failed our check.
• Codes never expire. If you stop paying, your printed codes keep working. Only codes blocked for abuse stop.
• Your photos are yours. We use your photo to make your code. We keep it only if you save a design, and delete it when you delete the design.
• No dark patterns. Clear prices, cancel from your account in a couple of clicks, and a 14-day money-back promise on your first payment.
• Privacy-friendly analytics. Scan stats do not store raw IP addresses, and this website uses no advertising trackers.
